Kirk Cousins Signs Franchise Tender – Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins signed his franchise tender Friday morning, according to sources. Cousins can now be traded, though Washington has shown no inclination of moving him to this point. But now that Cousins has signed, the Redskins can review their options. Cousins recently appealed to Redskins owner Dan Snyder, asking for a trade without a long-term contract in place, league and team sources told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. Snyder told Cousins that he should not anticipate a trade, sources said. Cousins received the nonexclusive tag last year at a cost of $19.953 million. It’s the first time in history a team has used the franchise tag twice on the same quarterback.
